We recommend using the soil that comes with the tree to plant it in your own bonsai pot (or a BH bonsai pot which comes with a root pruning mesh) to have a decent starter bonsai. Alternatively, you might choose to keep it in the nursery pot for at least a few months to speed up its growth before eventually planting it into a bonsai pot. If you choose that route, it will give you the opportunity to have a more mature-looking tree sooner.
